Our Program
Creating Positive Change After Sports
Phase 1: Support
Peer Support Groups
At Afterlete, our journey starts with Support. In this 6-8 session program, we guide retired athletes through support groups that explore the emotional and relational aspects of life after sports. We focus on unpacking the impact of an athletic career on family, friends, and self, fostering self-awareness and growth. Through meaningful discussions, we create a safe space to share experiences with others who understand, helping athletes embrace their story and prepare for what’s next.

Phase 2: Community
Building Your Networks
After completing the Support phase, Afterletes gain access to our exclusive platform, Grouped, where they can connect with other athletes from our other support groups. This phase allows members to network, share experiences, and access valuable resources, including career guidance for various fields, mental health support, and substance abuse resources. The Community phase fosters a sense of belonging, enabling Afterletes to continue their journey of growth, healing, and connection with others who share similar experiences.

Phase 3:
Giving Back
Help Others Progress
Once Afterletes progress to the Community phase, they become eligible to become support group leaders, taking on the vital role of guiding new members through the Support phase. This is a key opportunity to give back and expand our reach, allowing Afterletes to play an active role in helping others transition successfully after their sports careers. By leading support groups, they not only reinforce their own growth and healing but also create a lasting impact by offering guidance and empathy to fellow retired athletes. This phase empowers individuals to contribute to the wellbeing of others while continuing their own journey of stability and fulfillment.
